Red River Run

The southernmost neighborhood in the district, it gets its name from being the place where the Red River flows down from Red Water Lake near the top of the mountain and into the rest of the area. Unlike the smaller and calmer Fox River, the Red River is deep, wide, and has many rapids which make it difficult to traverse. At its source is a large power plant and dam which control the flow of water into the town and generates all of its electricity. This area too is popular for hiking and fishing even though it is less scenic than the parks of East River. 

Red Water Lake and the Red River are named so due to the high iron content in the rock giving it an unusual crimson hue which carries from the peaks to the valleys below. The power plant too bears a similar moniker, referred to as Red Water Power Station. Even the local high school is called Red Water High and local businesses use variations of the names as well. 

Characterized by the dam and the power plant, this section of the city consists primarily of manufacturing plants who use the river and warehouses to store those goods. This is the industrial heart of the city with most buildings having been constructed between 1870 and 1940. Often powered by steam created by the burning of coal and water, the entire area has a turn of the century look to it that is unique compared to anywhere else in the city. Few homes exist in this area but there are several apartments and bars for the working class residents to kick back.
